FotoFont ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
Data Processed On-Device
Your handwriting photos and the font files generated from them are processed locally on your device and on our server during font generation. We do not store your photos or generated fonts on our servers after processing is complete. Image data is transmitted to our server solely for the purpose of character detection and font building, and is discarded immediately after the response is returned.
Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, or other personal identifiers unless you contact us for support.
- We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party advertising SDKs.
- We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties.
Purchase Information
If you make an in-app purchase, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details. We receive only a transaction receipt to verify your purchase.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Font generation: Photos you submit are sent to our server, processed to detect characters and build a font file, and then immediately discarded. No copies are retained.
- Support: If you contact us, we may retain your message and email address solely to respond to your inquiry.
3. Data Storage & Security
Font data (font names, glyph metadata, and generated .ttf files) is stored locally on your device using on-device storage. This data never leaves your device except when you explicitly choose to share or export a font file.
Server communication uses HTTPS encryption in transit. We do not maintain any server-side database of user content.
4. Third-Party Services
FotoFont uses the following third-party services:
- Apple App Store: For app distribution and in-app purchase processing. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
5. Children's Privacy
FotoFont is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since we do not collect personal data from any user, no special provisions are required under COPPA.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under privacy laws such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including:
- The right to access, correct, or delete your personal data
- The right to opt out of the sale of your personal data — we do not sell your data
- The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (for users in the EU/EEA)
Since we collect minimal data and do not store personal information on our servers, there is effectively no personal data on our end to act on. Your font data is stored locally on your device and can be deleted at any time by removing it from the app or uninstalling FotoFont.

7. Data Breach Notification
In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
